FIFTEEN MINUTES?

More like a solid twelve. In any case, sometimes I get my name circulated in digital print for inexplicable reasons. Here’s two of them.

  • THE KIDS ARE ALRIGHT

Remember when AI wasn’t absolutely everywhere? Me neither. But there was such a time, and like a whole bunch of people I was completely obsessed with its text-to-image weirdness. Similarly, a whole bunch of other people had never even heard of it. So when I made this gallery of post-punk icons turned into snot-nosed kindergartners with early Midjourney, the internet was mildly intrigued enough with this techno-witchcraft to interview me about it. The proof: here’s an interview from the fine folks at Classic Rock Magazine.

Top: HR (Bad Brains), Iggy Pop, Joe Strummer, Robert Smith, Shane McGowan
Middle: Blixa Bargeld, Debbie Harry, Dee Dee Ramone, Henry Rollins, Ian Curtis
Bottom: Joan Jett, Joey Ramone, Johnny Thunders, Lemmy, Lou Reed

  • DOS HOMBRES

If you don’t want to eat this picture we might have issues. The story: This whole thing started as joke for a blog. My friend, Texas chef extraordinaire Tom Mickelthwait wanted to recreate the iconic gatefold meal from ZZ Top’s perfect 1973 Tres Hombres album down to the last detail. And that he did. He found the radio, the beer glasses, the plates, everything. He planned to craft the entire Tres Hombre combo as shown, and then he wanted to eat it all (naturally). He also wanted me to film it. A couple hours later: voila. Enchilda video supreme. We wanted to keep it under the radar so Billy Gibbons and the group wouldn’t sue us, so of course we put it online immediately. But not only did Billy Gibbons not sue us, he even heartily endorsed it. Eat up, ZZ TOP!
